Parents
Why should your child travel by public transport?
As a parent or guardian, it's your responsibility to ensure your children arrive
at school on time and safely. But taking them in the car isn't always the best
or easiest option.
Congestion at the school gates is a common problem, clogging up local roads and causing a potential danger for children crossing. CO2 emissions from cars also contribute to pollution and global warming.
By using sustainable transport you can encourage your children to live an active and independent lifestyle, as well as helping the environment too.
Centro have produced a guide which covers many of the aspects needed to ensure your child enjoys the journey to school by public transport and gets there safely including the following.
- Planning a journey by public transport
- Helping your child to use public transport.
- Making public transport fun
- Buying a ticket or travel pass
